About Us

Welcome to Hattie's Coffee House, where the magic of fresh roasted coffee meets the warmth of a vintage farmhouse in the heart of Whitestown, Indiana. As the owner and founder of Hattie's, this journey has been a labor of love, filled with moments of uncertainty and setbacks, but also with a deep sense of purpose and passion. I'm thrilled to have you here with me on this adventure.

From the moment I first set foot on the porch of this charming farmhouse, I knew it was meant to be. The property captivated me with its enchanting surroundings - wild asparagus, blackberries, and hidden treasures nestled in the forest. Every day, the beauty of this place becomes more magical, and I find myself looking back on the "before opening" season with fondness, knowing that it has led us to this moment.

Thank you for your support!

Our Mission

At Hattie's, we are a family run, local small business that intends to provide an excellent product, mainly coffee, and excellent customer service. We want to present a friendly face and offer support to our community by offering a warm and safe place to gather.

MEET THE OWNER

Kirra has spent the past 10 years building a wedding and lifestyle photography business alongside building a family with her husband.  They have three awesome kids and have lived in the suburbs of Indianapolis for the past 8 years where they've come to appreciate hoosier hospitality and small town charm.

Hattie's will be her first venture into the brick and mortar world but she is not new to running a business, working behind a coffee bar, or management.  She's so excited to learn your order and welcome you into the Hattie's family.

WONDERING HOW WE CAME UP WITH OUR NAME?

We were hoping you would ask!

Hattie's is named loosely after Harriet Wilson White, the wife of our town's namesake, Albert S. White.

We knew when naming the shop we wanted it to be something that tied us to the community, and as we learned more about the history of Whitestown, we were impressed by the family we're named after.

Contemporaries of the Lincolns; both Albert and Harriet were abolitionists and well connected to founding families of our nation. Albert was a judge, senator, and house representative. Known for their great acts of public service we found them to be a good representation for what we want our business to stand for.

Hattie is also a fictional & whimsy grandma of sorts. We want people to enter our doors and feel like they just walked into a loving home where they're about to get spoiled a bit.

Our drinks, food offerings, atmosphere and staff are all centered around this idea of warm hospitality that leaves you feeling cared for.

“I knew immediately upon arriving at the house that it was what I was looking for and more.”
