Hattie’s Lately

We have two weeks left to go for our capital campaign here and we're hard at work getting the outside and inside of Hattie's ready! We hope to raise our maximum amount so please keep sharing our story & link!

Outside

The site drainage plan came in this past week from our civic engineer and it wasn't the news we wanted. The fact that we needed to pay a civic engineer for a stamped site drainage plan for thousands of dollars already was a bit of a blow (the county requires it for all new businesses) but this plan wipes out a large portion of the trees. We're working with the engineer to come up with a different plan but it all costs so much more money than either of us had anticipated.

Inside

We have our final plans submitted to the town and are waiting on one more piece before we can submit them to the state. We have to go through Homeland Security here in Indiana if you change the use of a property- which is what we're doing taking a home and turning it into a coffee shop. They require a CDR which stands for construction design release and it's been a pain to figure out but we have a consultant helping us out with that and hopefully we're close. We'll apply for a chapter 34 which will help us and hopefully get approved.
